RUSHING ATTACK IS COOL AGAIN

Florida State football was one of the worst rushing totals, with 89.9 rushing yards per game last season. The fan base has to be happy as the Seminoles have accumulated 295.5 rushing yards per contest in 2025, which is a massive improvement.

Everyone should have seen this coming after Florida State picked up former UCF head football coach Gus Malzahn to be their offensive coordinator this offseason. His offenses have been known to utilize the inside run scheme to build a physical brand of football.

The Seminoles have a tremendous haul in the 2026 recruiting cycle, but they don't have a running back prospect in the fold after four-star Amari Thomas elected to pledge to South Carolina.

ALL IN ON COOPER

Four-star running back prospect Derrek Cooper from Chaminade-Madonna Prep is someone that the Seminoles want in their recruiting class, but he is currently committed to the Texas Longhorns. He grew up a Florida State fan and has always wanted to be a part of the Garnet and Gold, but Cooper wanted to see the results on the field to translate to wins.

Cooper could be an excellent addition to the backfield. The coaching staff is already high on former four-star prospect Ousmane Kromah, who has shown flashes this season. Kromah is proving to Cooper that true freshmen can shine at Florida State.

Kromah has 12 carries for 68 yards as well as two receptions for 50 yards and a touchdown. The possibilities could be endless with both youngsters in the backfield. That would be an elite running back duo that opposing defenses would have headaches trying to prepare for.
