With the way the transfer portal works, teams have to jump fast at their top targets. Such is the case with Florida State legend Deion Sanders and his Colorado Buffs. There's now a former 5-star signee available and Sanders is working quickly to try and land him.
That'd be Hykeem Williams, who spent two seasons in Tallashassee with Mike Norvell and Co. Unfortunately, Williams never lived up to the hype and he has decided to continue his playing career elsewhere. He's already scheduling visits too.
According to 247's Zach Blostein, Williams will take an official visit to Boulder to meet with Sanders and his staff. He's also set to visit Syracuse and Pitt. With the portal open until April 25, a decision from Williams should be coming soon. Will Deion end up taking him under his wing?
I’m told #FSU WR transfer Hykeem Williams has visits set to Colorado, Syracuse and Pitt in the next week.https://t.co/N22YXdcQEO pic.twitter.com/1VRwIcrk1N

Former 5-star Florida State signee Hykeem Williams will visit Colorado
There are plenty of Florida State fans who remain pretty bummed out that Williams is leaving town. When he put the pen to paper with the Seminoles, he did so ranked five stars, the No. 4 wide receiver in the country and No. 30 prospect nationally per the 247Sports Composite.
He remains the only 5-star signee of the Norvell era. However, he's already out the door. With the Seminoles going a shocking 2-10 last campaign, the pressure is on for Norvell to get this program back where it belongs - among the elite squads in the ACC.
Having your only 5-star signee not pan out is a big step backwards and Sanders is ready to pounce. Florida State is hoping to make some strong additions via the portal too, which is something Norvell and his coaches are obviously working on. The hope is help on both sides of the ball will be on the way, while WR will be a focus, especially after Jalen Brown was just dismissed from the program.
