DC Tony White can have a similar emergence at FSU, just like former DC Mark Stoops

We need the killer mentality on FSU's defense for the 2025 season.

DEFENSIVE STAFF CHANGE INCOMING

Florida State football had a wholesale change with its coaching staff. It was much-needed after the disaster that transpired in 2024 with the 2-10 record.

Much of the conversation centered around the offense's struggles, but it should be noted that the defense had its weaknesses as well. Overall, the offense should get a lot of the blame, they were historically bad.

However, when the offense finally gained a bit of success, the defense was not able to get off the field on third down, and the opposing offense continued to drive down the field. This led to head football coach Mike Norvell making the difficult decision of firing defensive coordinator Adam Fuller.

Some fans used Coach Fuller as a scapegoat when things didn't go as planned. While I thought that was unfair, changes were probably still needed. As a result, the Seminoles hired former Syracuse and Nebraska defensive coordinator Tony White.

In this article, I want to list five reasons why Coach White could see a similar emergence that former defensive coordinator Mark Stoops had with the Seminoles from 2010-2012.
