EARL LITTLE JR.

Let me start by saying that last season for the Florida State Seminoles football program was a disaster. Head football coach Mike Norvell and his squad were hearing the critics after the Seminoles were left out of the College Football Playoff in favor of Alabama.

While I did not think that it was fair for Florida State, I thought that many of the team wanted to prove the doubters wrong. It is okay to have confidence in yourself and the abilities that you possess, but it seemed like the Seminoles were going through the motions in 2024, which led to the 2-10 record.

I have plenty of bold takes from the last offseason that didn't pan out. Unlike certain individuals, I don't shy away from the fact that I was wrong. We aren't perfect, but I thought this squad was capable of so much more. One of my boldest takes was that I was high on former Alabama defensive back transfer Earl Little Jr. when he transferred to Florida State.

Unfortunately, it wasn't in the cards for Little Jr. to be successful last season as the entire team struggled to get into a rhythm. The former American Heritage High School standout only recorded 15 tackles (one for loss) and one sack. He made the position change from nickel cornerback to safety at the midway point of the season.

PHYSICALITY FOR LITTLE JR.

Florida State defensive back Earl Little Jr. spoke to the media on Sunday afternoon, where he discussed his physicality:

"I want opposing offenses to feel me. That is how I'm going to practice and how I'm going to approach my practices every day, and how I approach the games."

Little Jr. has been a player that the coaching staff has continued to rave about, where defensive coordinator Tony White referred to the former Alabama transfer as "Him". That is high praise for a player who didn't perform up to his expectations last season. It should be noted that the Seminoles brought him to be a representative at ACC Kickoff, which should speak volumes to how they feel about him.

The former American Heritage High School standout is looking to be a leader in the Seminoles' defense in 2025. As head football coach Mike Norvell states, "We can't just talk about it, we have to go do it." This is a massive year for Little Jr. as he attempts to become a household name in Tallahassee.
