Could RB Ousmane Kromah have a Cam Akers-type of impact for the Noles in 2025?

Kromah could be a special player for the Seminoles.

ALL ABOARD THE GUS BUS

Florida State football's offense had to make drastic changes this offseason as the Seminoles finished with 15.2 points per game. Let's face it, your 85-year-old grandmother could probably muster seven points per game (maybe not... but you get the point).

The truth of the matter is that the Seminoles were terrible on offense. Head football coach Mike Norvell knew that major corrections had to be made. There were pieces on the roster added, and they even hired Gus Malzahn to be their offensive coordinator.

Coach Malzahn is known for being one of the most innovative offensive minds in college football. Plus, he is also the kryptonite of the Alabama Crimson Tide (who the Seminoles open the season with in 2025), where he holds a 3-5 record against them.

Malzahn's offenses run the football at an efficient rate. The Knights averaged 248.3 rushing yards per game with their inside zone scheme on offense. The offense wants to be aggressive and physical as they try to tire out the opposing defenses.

IMPACT OF RB OUSMANE KROMAH

One running back that the fan base cannot contain its excitement for is true freshman Ousmane Kromah. I know that linebacker Blake Nichelson (he is my guy and I love his skill set) is not thrilled with the Seminoles releasing their highlight reel of the fall scrimmage, where he got run over by Kromah.

I started to think after seeing the video: Could Ousmane Kromah have a Cam Akers-esque 2017 season when he was a true freshman with the Seminoles? Akers had 1,024 rushing yards and seven touchdowns during that season. The Mississippi native got his 100-yard game in the fourth contest of the year versus the arch-rival Miami Hurricanes.

I could have a similar approach with Kromah, where he could have around ten touches versus Alabama and then elevate his role in the East Texas A&M and Kent State games, then he could shine on the road versus Virginia.

I don't want to compare him to a great back like Akers because he hasn't even played a collegiate snap. However, the Seminoles spent an abundance of resources on the running back in the 2025 recruiting cycle.
