Could another legacy recruit be next for FSU football recruiting?

This could be a massive (literally) pickup for the Seminoles' recruiting class.

FSU FOOTBALL RECRUITING

Florida State football is gearing up for a pivotal game against its arch-rival Miami at 7:30 PM EST on ABC in the friendly confines of Doak Campbell Stadium. This is a matchup that gets talked about fifty years from now.

The weekend has already started with a bang as Class of 2026 three-star tight end Corbyn Fordham flipped his commitment from Ohio State to Florida State on Friday. Fordham's father (Todd) played on the offensive line for the Seminoles on their 1993 national championship team.

Florida State is listed as the thirteenth-best recruiting class in the 2026 cycle. However, it doesn't seem like the coaching staff is finished with acquiring highly-touted prospects.

ANOTHER LEGACY?

The Florida State-Miami game holds a lot of weight in terms of pressure for the Seminoles. If Florida State falls to Miami, the Seminoles would fall to 0-2 in conference and virtually eliminate themselves from the ACC Championship Game.

This would be a bummer after Florida State opened the season with a win over Alabama. The general college football population thought that they would be a College Football Playoff contender. This isn't to say that they cannot be with a loss, but they likely have no room for error if they want to have an at-large spot.

Recruits are flocking to Tallahassee for the game, and one to watch for is three-star offensive tackle prospect Aaron Thomas from Mountain Pointe High School in Phoenix, Arizona. He is currently committed to Ohio State, but that didn't stop the Seminoles from landing three-star tight end Corbyn Fordham on Friday night.

Thomas's father (Eric) played for the Seminoles from 1995 to 1999. The Seminoles need a true offensive tackle in their 2026 recruiting class, and the Arizona native's 6'7" frame brings that to Tallahassee. Hopefully, Florida State can impress him enough to flip his services.
