Florida State women’s basketball had a disappointing year, as expected after losing its top player (Ta’Niya Latson) to the transfer portal. Florida State went from making the NCAA Tournament and going (24-9, 13-5 ACC) to missing the NCAA Tournament, finishing (10-21, 5-13 ACC).
It was a tough season for Coach Brooke Wyckoff, and it was the first time she had a losing season at Florida State since becoming head coach in 2022. She has some work to do to rebuild the team into becoming a respectable NCAA Tournament team again, and the work she and the staff have done in the transfer portal has grabbed the attention of basketball analysts:
Florida State has been working quietly but pulling some BIG NAMES from the transfer portal:

They’ve landed 6 *so far*:
▪️Ice Brady
▪️Aga Makurat
▪️Timaya Lewis-Eutsey
▪️Jasmine Nivar
▪️Savannah Henderson
▪️Joy Egbuna
Florida State is combing a good portal class with a top high school recruiting class.
Joy Egbuna brings some size, college experience, and three years of eligibility from Alabama. She is a former blue-chip high school player from Texas.
Savannah Henderson is an experienced player with size who has battled injuries while playing at Georgia the past few years. She was a former top 50 national player in high school.
Jasmine Nivar is a freshman guard who was the Freshman of the Year in her conference (CAA) and started 31 of 32 games, averaging 11.4 ppg, 4.4 rebounds, 2.2 assists, and 1.8 steals.
Timaya Lewis-Eutsy is a graduate transfer guard from Marshall who averaged 20 ppg and shot 50 percent from the floor. She is one of two players nationally to average 20 ppg and 3.8 steals per game.
Aga Makurat is a forward who played the last three seasons at Vanderbilt. She can shoot three three-pointers and has International experience with Poland.
Ice Brady transfers from UConn but will miss the 2026-27 season due to an injury suffered this past season. She’ll join the team for the 2027-28 year after graduating from UConn. She has a good size and comes from one of the best programs nationally.
There are some pieces here for sure. A combination of proven production, experience, and some role players combined with No. 5 ranked recruiting class nationally. The 2026-27 season should see a return back to respectability if all the pieces fit together.
