CFP Committee finally does something right by leaving Alabama out of CFB Playoffs

The College Football Playoff Committee snubbed an undefeated FSU football team to get Alabama in the CFB Playoffs a year ago. Now, some folks(mainly SEC fans and supporters) believe the CFB Committee snubbed a THREE-loss Alabama team this year because they put in a two-loss SMU team.

There is nothing the committee can do to justify the egregious error they made a year ago with FSU. However, it felt like all of the FSU fans and others pointing out the blatant bias of the media and others towards the SEC put pressure on the committee to avoid putting an Alabama team in the playoff again when they didn't deserve it.

Yes, Alabama had some good wins, but they had some even worse losses. They lost as double-digit betting favorites TWICE this year, didn't make their conference title game, and had three losses.

Yes, they beat Georgia, but Georgia nearly lost to an ACC team that didn't make the ACC Championship game. Alabama scored THREE points in a three-touchdown loss against a .500 Oklahoma team.

SMU didn't beat any ranked teams, but neither did Texas. Both made their conference championship games and have two losses, so how can one be in and not the other?

SMU's two losses were by a combined 10 points. When you look at SMU's strength of record via FEI advanced metrics? It's better than Alabama's.

At some point, the conclusions about the SEC being the best conference and assuming those teams would beat others just because they play in the SEC has to stop.

There's a reason they play the games, just like Alabama lost twice as massive betting favorites. Now, let's see how many Alabama players decide to play in a meaningless bowl and if the media will call them out like they did FSU last year(although FSU players had way more justification for not playing in the Orange Bowl).
