The respect for FSU continues to grow and Brad Crawford from CBSSports.com is the latest to recognize what the Seminoles are capable of this season.

Crawford placed FSU in his most recent playoff projections as a No. 10 seed. In the current projection, FSU would travel to Austin and play Texas in the first round. This game would be historic as FSU and Texas have never played each other in football.

Crawford has FSU as the second ACC team in the playoffs with Miami as a No. 3 seed and a first-round bye. The winner of the FSU-Texas game would advance to play No. 2 LSU in the Sugar Bowl, which would be incredible.

Here's what he says about the Seminoles and why they are in this position:

""Hypothetically speaking, what would the playoff selection committee do with the Seminoles if they finish runner-up to Miami in the ACC with a lone regular-season loss to either the Hurricanes in a couple of weeks or Florida in the finale? It's not if Florida State would be deserving of a bid, but where is the primary question.""

Right now, the idea of Florida beating FSU is laughable, which wasn't the case a month ago, and it might not be the case a month from now because we're only heading into Week 3. There's a long way to go and in about a month the Seminoles can get a grip on the conference with a win over the Hurricanes.

SEC opponents in the playoffs? Bring 'em on

There's no doubt that Mike Norvell's eyes light up when an SEC opponent is on the other side of the field. FSU is 5-3 against competition from that conference after the 31-17 win over Alabama two weeks ago.

And the idea of a second-round matchup against LSU? Oh please, the Seminoles OWN the Tigers and that goes far beyond Norvell's tenure. FSU used to play LSU often during their days as an independent and have a 9-2 record with a current six-game win streak going back to 1983.

And when FSU beats up on the SEC, it just means more.
