Florida State football has a couple of players from last year's roster who declared for the 2025 NFL Draft. The Seminoles went down bad last year after they fell to a 2-10 record. That is not the standard of the proud program that is used to competing for conference and national championships.
Florida State still had NFL-caliber players on its roster. One notable name is cornerback Azareye'h Thomas. There were a couple of NFL mock drafts that had Thomas slated in the late first round. However, when the first round premiered on Thursday, the defender was not selected in the first round.
While the Niceville, Florida product will never be one to boast about his talent or placement for the draft, I believe that Thomas will make NFL teams pay for not being a first-round pick. He will more than likely be a second-round pick.
Seminole fans enjoyed the successes of Thomas. He was a certified baller, where he recorded 53 tackles, four pass deflections, and one interception during the 2024 season.
The defensive back has been overshadowed by the general public when he chose to sign with Florida State, since former five-star Travis Hunter decided to flip and sign with Jackson State during the Early Signing Period.
However, Azareye'h Thomas is a prime example of putting your head down and working as hard as you can to accomplish your dreams and aspirations. With the stellar Senior Bowl practices, I am surprised that an NFL team did not take a chance on him in the late first round.
Whoever gets him in the second round (if he gets selected there) will get someone who has the potential to be a multi-year NFL contributor.
