Florida State football has had several players who have gone on and have successful playing careers in the NFL. One such player was former quarterback Jameis Winston, who won a national championship and Heisman Trophy with the Seminoles in 2013.
It is hard to believe that it happened eleven years ago... Where has the time gone?
YOU EITHER LIKE HIM OR YOU DON'T
Winston was a polarizing athlete, and you never knew what you were going to get at times. However, he was always entertaining and knew how to put a smile on others' faces. FOX made the best decision ever to allow him to cover the Super Bowl in New Orleans. He was a natural in that role.
Fast forward to Winston's professional football career, he was drafted No. 1 overall by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the 2014 NFL Draft, where he spent six seasons with the organization. In 2019, he put up an eye-popping season where he recorded 33 touchdowns with 30 interceptions (ouch).
FAMOUS JAMEIS TO THE BIG APPLE
He is now with the New York Giants, and individuals are skeptical that he will get his time to shine with the organization, also signing veteran Russell Wilson. The Giants have not been good with quarterback decisions as of late where they took Duke's Daniel Jones a few years back as an early first-round pick.
Then, the organization could draft another signal-caller with their 3rd overall pick if Cam Ward or Shedeur Sanders falls to them. Or they could even trade down to collect more assets and draft a rising candidate in Jaxson Dart.
Nonetheless, just like his short time with the Browns, it doesn't look like he could get the chance that he deserves. If the Giants do come to their senses and play Winston, he will be wearing No. 19 this season.

CLOSING THOUGHTS
I love Jameis Winston, and I wish him nothing but the best as he navigates through the rest of his professional career. He is a tremendous teammate and wants to hang around in the league for as long as possible. It is obvious that he has the special talent of entertaining others, so that could be something that he will explore when his time to hang them up comes.
However, until then, I will enjoy Jameis Winston eating yet another W!
