FSU FOOTBALL
Florida State football's offense is red-hot on the gridiron after it won against the likes of Alabama and East Texas A&M. This has had the college football landscape discussing the successes of the Seminoles.
Some individuals in the offseason were talking recklessly about head football coach Mike Norvell potentially getting fired. However, just like Coach Norvell did in 2022, he had to prove the doubters wrong.
The winning ways are likely contributed to the fact that the Seminoles added quarterback Thomas Castellanos, offensive coordinator Gus Malzahn, and defensive coordinator Tony White.
SQUIRREL WHITE BREAKOUT?
The playmakers that Castellanos is impressive as wide receiver Duce Robinson recorded 173 yards and two touchdowns versus East Texas A&M. However, more pass catchers can be utilized in the scheme.
It is known that Gus Malzahn's scheme revolves around the ability to run the football, but the wide receivers have to be ready for their opportunities when they present themselves.
Duce Robinson gets a ton of discussion from the fan base because of his play recently. However, the former Tennessee transfer Squirrel White has only recorded two receptions for 47 yards. Everyone remembers that White had the fantastic 40-yard catch against Alabama.
The veteran suffered an injury against East Texas A&M, but it doesn't seem to be severe, as it looks like the Seminoles will have him back for ACC play. The only downside of White is that he has had a history of injuries that could impact his availability.
However, the speedster should be in place for a breakout performance later if he remains healthy.
