FLORIDA FOOTBALL STINKS
The Florida Gators stink at football during the 2025 season. They had high expectations coming into the year, where some individuals even thought quarterback DJ Lagway was the best signal-caller in the SEC. However, after his five-interception showing against LSU, Lagway is at the bottom of the conference.
Head football coach Billy Napier faced adversity last season with the difficult schedule, but the Gators finished strong to close out the year. This gave Florida fans hope that this could be their year. However, Florida has now lost to South Florida, Miami, and LSU.
They now take on Texas in the Swamp. We just talked about how the quarterback, DJ Lagway, is terrible, but Arch Manning from the Longhorns might even be worse. It could be the battle of overrated quarterbacks.
FSU FOOTBALL RECRUITING
Florida State ranks No. 13 in the 2026 recruiting rankings, according to 247Sports Composite. The Seminoles picked up a pledge last night from three-star tight end Corbyn Fordham from the Bolles School in Jacksonville, Florida.
Florida State versus Miami is a game that many individuals are talking about throughout the country. Even though College GameDay elected not to go through with being in Tallahassee for the game, it still has massive College Football Playoff implications and bragging rights.
There will be plenty of highly-touted prospects in Tallahassee for the matchup, but there is one recruit that will be taken off the board of coming to the game, and that is four-star running back Carsyn Baker (Florida commit).

— Carsyn Baker 'ALL Day' (@carsyn_baker) October 4, 2025
This was a recruitment that I believed Florida State could get itself into because of the Seminoles' ability to run the football, where they have averaged 336.3 rushing yards per game with offensive coordinator Gus Malzahn leading the charge.
It is more surprising that Florida State doesn't have a running back prospect committed to their 2026 class, with the success on the ground and the way they are winning on the gridiron. However, four-star running back target Amari Thomas (South Carolina commit) will be on campus once again. Thomas was previously pledged to the Seminoles before flipping to the Gamecocks.
Baker not attending the Florida State-Miami game shouldn't upset the Seminoles' fan base. If the talented back isn't ready to jump off the burning ship that is in Gainesville, then it is his loss. Florida State will be fine with running back recruiting.
