MIKE NORVELL ON THE CHOPPING BLOCK
Florida State football lost to Stanford by a score of 20-13 on Saturday. This was a disappointing result for a fan base that is starving for success, after it finished with a 2-10 record last year. Individuals thought that the program might have needed a hard reset.
The Seminoles just did that with acquiring forty-four transfers/recruits to the roster and then adding six new coaches to the staff. That is a HUGE turnover. It takes a while for the program to adjust to that change, plus having to come off a season where you hit rock bottom.
This all starts at the head of the program. From the 3-6 season in 2020, Jacksonville State loss in 2021, three-game losing streak in 2022, was snubbed from the College Football Playoff in 2023, had a disaster in 2024, and now has a four-game losing streak in 2025.
BILLY NAPIER AND MIKE NORVELL CAN BE TWINS I GUESS
I will never call for someone's job. This is not my place to do that. However, the writing is on the wall that it could be a possibility, and it would be a disservice not to report on the matter.
The arch-rival Florida Gators have already pulled the plug on head football coach Billy Napier, as it was announced on Sunday afternoon. You have to think that Norvell could be next, after the four straight blunders. If someone had told you that the Seminoles defeated Alabama in the opener, they would feel like the program would win 8/9 games at least and be competitive.
However, that is not the case as Florida State has snowballed. There is a chance that the Seminoles could finish with a losing season in six out of the last eight years. This was unheard of for a program that, before 2018's losing season, had not had that type of struggle since 1976.
It is only a matter of time, it seems, but this is one of the more pivotal hires in Florida State football history to get the ship turned around for good.
