Barstool did the Florida State fanbase a huge favor by avoiding further trolling

This saved the Florida State basketball program from being trolled even further.

Florida State basketball didn't have the best of seasons in 2025, but head coach Luke Loucks has brought hope into the program again. The Seminoles finished with an 18-14 overall record, which included a nail-biter against Duke in the ACC Tournament.

The former point guard didn't have the best reputation after the blowout loss to North Carolina State at home. However, the Seminoles bounced back hugely, as they won 11 of their last 15 games. It isn't enough for the fan base to get a participation trophy for starting to win.

The ultimate goal is to get into March Madness and compete for championships. Luke Loucks has shown that he can recruit with the best of them with his ability to find elite talent in the transfer portal and high school recruiting ranks.

Coach Loucks and his coaching staff won't sleep until they reach the NCAA Tournament. In a conference that is dominated by teams such as Duke, North Carolina, and Virginia, the Seminoles want to enter that conversation one day.

The 2020 COVID-19 final ranking banner was a bit embarrassing

Former head coach Leonard Hamilton had this team rolling at one point. The 2019-2020 season was likely his year to get Florida State into the Final Four, potentially. The Seminoles had a 26-5 overall record and were getting ready to play in the ACC Tournament before the COVID-19 pandemic shut everything down (what a time to be alive...

The world changed as we knew it, and March Madness was cancelled due to COVID-19. As a result, the Seminoles decided to hang a banner celebrating the 2020 team's No. 4 final ranking. The company "Barstool" reached out on social media and wanted the banner for their possession.

Luckily, Florida State basketball was able to give them the banner. I thought the banner was a way for opposing teams to troll the program for participation awards. The 2020 squad should be celebrated, but hanging a banner for the final ranking was a bit over the top.

Barstool saved them from further trolling, but I hope that Florida State basketball can get back to March Madness this upcoming season and hang the banner for making the tournament in the Tucker Center.
