The season predictions for FSU football are all over the place for the 2025 season. Many people don’t have faith in the Noles after entering the season as a top-10 team and only winning two games.
However, it’s not like they have the same team or coaches. FSU fired both coordinators and hired other position coaches. They got rid of many of the problem players from a year ago and added 23 transfer players, several blue-chip true freshmen who will play significant minutes in 2025.
They also play a weaker schedule in 2025, with several teams projected to miss a bowl game, according to preseason win share predictions by sports betting sites.
Nevertheless, that didn’t stop one analyst from predicting a win-loss that would make FSU fans want to quit. Bryan Fischer from Sports Illustrated gave predictions on every 2025 Power Four College Football team(and Notre Dame). He obviously did a lot of guessing because there’s no way he spent that much time researching every team. It showed in his predictions for FSU:
Florida State: 6–6 overall, 4–4 ACC
Week 1: vs. Alabama, L
Week 2: vs. East Texas A&M, W
Week 3: Bye
Week 4: vs. Kent State, W
Week 5: at Virginia, L
Week 6: vs. Miami, L
Week 7: vs. Pitt, W
Week 8: at Stanford, W
Week 9: Bye
Week 10: vs. Wake Forest, W
Week 11: at Clemson, L
Week 12: vs. Virginia Tech, L
Week 13: at NC State, W
Week 14: at Florida, L
I think most folks have FSU losing to Alabama. However, if they lost to Virginia and Miami in back-to-back weeks, to go into the week against Pitt at 2-3? The season would be over, and fans wouldn’t care anymore because they’d be ready to fire Mike Norvell with the quickness. I’d probably have them losing against Pitt then as too.
However, I have FSU beating Virginia because they have a lot of injuries, and FSU has more overall talent. Plus, they will have over two weeks to prepare for the Cavaliers. If FSU gets to the Clemson game with a 6-2 record, I’d have them beating Virginia Tech and NC State, and who knows what the Florida team will look like by then.
If you read my predictions months ago, I have FSU going 8-4 at worst(barring any crazy rash of injuries). You can read my insight back then below.
