FSU FOOTBALL
Florida State football opens up the 2025 season versus Alabama in the newly renovated Doak Campbell Stadium on Saturday, August 30th, at 3:30 PM EST on ABC. The program is looking to make a difference after the 2-10 record in 2024.
The Seminoles are currently listed as 13.5-point underdogs, according to DraftKings Sportsbook. Some individuals, such as ESPN's Paul Finebaum and Greg McElroy, are thinking Florida State football has no chance to defeat the "SEC powerhouse".
As quarterback Thomas Castellanos stated in an interview with On3's Pete Nakos, legendary coach Nick Saban won't be able to save them. Castellanos gave the Crimson Tide "bulletin board material", but he doesn't care because he is a confident individual.
Florida State football is expected to travel to Tuscaloosa to play the University of Alabama next season. It will be fascinating to see if that game continues in 2026.
ALABAMA VS WEST VIRGINIA SERIES
Alabama released an update on Tuesday afternoon that the Crimson Tide will be cancelling its series versus West Virginia for 2026 and 2027. This begs the question as to whether or not the program will cancel its series with Florida State next season.
I don't want to have my Garnet and Gold glasses on, but I think that Florida State could make them reconsider the decision to keep the Seminoles on the 2026 schedule after they capture a victory on Saturday (kidding...not really).
In all seriousness, I am excited to see how the Seminoles perform in 2025 and generate momentum for stability in the seventh year of the Mike Norvell tenure.
