FSU FOOTBALL KEY WIN

Florida State football took its first loss of the 2025 season as they fell to the Virginia Cavaliers by a score of 46-38 in double overtime. The defeat was frustrating because it seemed like the Seminoles had momentum heading into the rivalry matchup against Miami.

The loss taught the fan base that expectations might have to be tempered a little bit, from individuals talking about the College Football Playoffs instead of just going 1-0 each week.

Florida State got a huge win in the season opener against Alabama by a score of 31-17. The Crimson Tide looked vulnerable in the hostile Doak Campbell Stadium. The result even had ESPN's Paul Finebaum suggesting that the Seminoles were "back".

ALABAMA GRABBED A NICE VICTORY

Alabama took on the Georgia Bulldogs on the road Saturday night. Florida State had its way with the Crimson Tide on August 30th. Wide receiver Ryan Williams looked out of sorts with all the drops. Plus, quarterback Ty Simpson showed that he had never thrown a football before.

This was originally classified as a great win from Florida State, but most individuals wondered if Alabama was bad or if Florida State was pretty good. Saturday's result answered the question for the Bulldogs, as Simpson had 276 passing yards and three total touchdowns.

The Seminole fan base expressed its sadness over the loss to Virginia. This is understandable, given that the Cavaliers could end up being a 7-win squad. However, it does prove that when Florida State plays up to its full potential, it can be difficult to beat.

There weren't any penalties that Alabama had because of crowd noise, so it should be safe to assume that Doak Campbell Stadium is a better environment than Stanford Stadium.
