The College Football 26 video game was just released early, as individuals are excited for the new version after EA Sports made headlines bringing the title back after its long hiatus.
The Seminoles had an awful 2024 campaign, where they finished with a 2-10 record, so many fans just want to get on the sticks and show that Florida State's team is much more improved in 2025. After playing the video game, I noticed five players on the roster that I thought were rated too low.
RB GAVIN SAWCHUK (79)
Mike Norvell gave offensive coordinator Gus Malzahn the keys to his offense. It is notable because Malzahn's calling card is running the football at an effective rate. The Seminoles were abysmal running the football last year, and decided to add former Oklahoma running back Gavin Sawchuk from the portal. It looks to be a potential starter and is listed as the fourth back on the roster.
DB EARL LITTLE JR. (73)
Florida State defensive coordinator Tony White made headlines this offseason when he referred to former Alabama defensive back transfer Earl Little Jr. as "Him". The former American Heritage High School standout didn't stand out last year for the Seminoles (who did?), but I thought someone who was highly regarded should be rated higher than a 73.
WR JAYVAN BOGGS (72)
I know that many casual college football fans might not know who true freshman wide receiver Jayvan Boggs is, but numerous Florida State football players and coaches raved about Boggs this offseason. He was a beast at Cocoa High School, and I expect to compete for starting reps alongside Duce Robinson and Squirrel White.
OL ANDRE OTTO (71)
I am a huge fan of offensive lineman Andre Otto. While I am not projecting him to be a starting member of the trenches, injuries happen on the offensive line, and Otto can play anywhere along the line. With someone as versatile as him, I thought the Swiss Army Knife would've been rated higher.
DB JA'BRIL RAWLS (70)
This is another example of defensive coordinator Tony White expressing his confidence in a player. Former three-star prospect Ja'Bril Rawls from Pensacola, Florida, has continued to elevate his play this offseason, where Coach White referred to him as an NFL prospect. I wouldn't be surprised to see Rawls in the starting secondary unit.
