DYNAMIC OFFENSE
Let me just say that I previously stated that I believed head football coach Mike Norvell was one of the better offensive minds in all of college football. However, that notion fell on my face as the offense, which was previously led by transfer quarterback DJ Uiagalelei, was one of the worst units in all of college football.
The offense was barely able to score 14 points per game as it became a revolving door of signal-callers after Uiagalelei with youngsters Luke Kromenhoek and Brock Glenn. Kromenhoek transferred out of the program to Mississippi State while Glenn still remains.
The Seminoles acquired former Boston College transfer Thomas Castellanos and four-star signee Kevin Sperry. Overall, the biggest talk of the offseason was Norvell hiring former UCF head football coach Gus Malzahn to be the offensive coordinator.
Even though Malzahn was in his coaching circle, I did not expect Norvell to make the hire, as I thought he might have stuck with allowing him to continue calling plays. Nonetheless, I believe that he saw the writing on the wall and how important this year was to his job security. The Seminoles are now in win-now mode.
With the improved positions on offense, I could see this being a formidable Seminole unit in 2025!
