DE JAMES WILLIAMS
I believe that this selection is more so projection-based as former Nebraska defensive end transfer James Williams only recorded 14 tackles and five sacks last season for the Cornhuskers.
Williams viewed new defensive line coach Terrance Knighton as a father figure, so obviously, the connection between player and coach should be good since he was coached by Knighton for two years and it is also important to mention that he has experience in defensive coordinator Tony White's 3-3-5 scheme.
Williams is just scratching the surface as a pass rusher. He has only had one season of true experience, as he redshirted the first year. Maybe this is wishful thinking, with the Seminoles losing their entire defensive line (except for Darrell Jackson Jr.) from last year.
For the Seminoles to be successful on defense in 2025, they will have to get after the opposing quarterback. I think James Williams will be the most impactful there.
