The Battles End

Mike Norvell caught a lot of flack early about high school recruiting, and I've talked about the effect of the pandemic on the first season.

However, most people forget that FSU couldn't recruit players face-to-face for the first year and a half. They couldn't have a high school player on campus from April 2020 to May 2021.

The transfer portal didn't open until after the 2021 season, and FSU had NO form of NIL collective until April 2021, when Rising Spear launched.

It wasn't until the winter of 2022, when The Battle's End formed, that FSU had a viable collective that could compete with other top programs.

The Battle's End was largely responsible for the success of the 2023s season with player retention and getting players like Braden Fiske and Keon Coleman from the transfer portal.

The Battle's End played a huge part in FSU's recruiting close in the Early Signing Period. FSU will be in the mix and sign more players of higher caliber than when Mike Norvell first got to FSU.
