Better Staff Overall

When I think about Mike Norvell's previous staff, I'm amazed they went on a 23-4 run over two years, going 13-0 in 2023. Most of that was because they somehow threaded the needle two straight offseasons in the transfer portal, coupled with developing a few talented players they inherited, which resulted in 10 FSU players drafted in the 2024 NFL Draft.

The coordinators FSU had under Mike Norvell had no Power Five experience before coming to FSU. Most of the staff were not known for their recruiting prowess, lacked Southeast recruiting ties, and were either inexperienced for this level or getting older and not as relatable to younger high school players.

That will not be the case with the staff hired by Mike Norvell 2.0. Both coordinators have proven experience in big-time programs. We're still waiting on some offensive positions to get filled, but most of the defensive staff have worked together before.

That wasn't the case in 2020. All the coaches understand the caliber of players needed to play at an elite level. I think they are better recruiters than the original staff, and they won't have the pandemic to hinder high school recruiting in the first two years.
