4 young players that need to be retained on the Seminoles' roster this offseason
TE/DE AMAREE WILLIAMS
Florida State acquired Class of 2025 five-star athlete Amaree Williams in the recruiting trail. Williams was reclassified to the 2024 class.
Most fans thought that the talented prospect might sit out a year since he was only 17 years old and his body might take some time to develop, especially at the position that they were recruiting him at (defensive end).
The coaching staff decided to give him an opportunity at tight end. Most fans thought that this was a reason to solidify depth at the position, but as most individuals know, the Seminoles have plenty of tight ends on their roster.
The Florida State faithful saw Williams blossom in the role, but I do believe that the youngster switches back to defensive end long-term for his career. According to the Seminoles.com official roster, he is listed as 6'4" and 219 pounds. If he can get to 230 pounds and build the appropriate strength, the sky is the limit for him.
Overall, the Seminoles need more talent at the defensive end position to apply pressure on opposing quarterbacks.
