Zahir Mathis: 4-star DE, Former Ohio State commit
FSU coaches knew they needed to improve at the defensive end position and added four defensive ends during the Early Signing Period.
However, four-star Zahir Mathis is the highest-ranked defensive end remaining on their recruiting board.
Mathis is the No. 75 player nationally and the No. 6 defensive end. He is listed at 6'6" and 225 pounds.
The former Ohio State commit is officially visiting FSU this weekend. He'll officially visit UCLA on January 18th and Michigan on January 27th.
Michigan is probably the odds-on favorite to land the Philadelphia native, but it's always good to get top 100 players on campus.
However, if FSU were to land Mathis, it would be a massive feather in the cap of new FSU defensive line coach Terrance Knighton.
