OT LUCAS SIMMONS
Florida State's offensive line has been a position group that has faced its fair share of ups and downs over the past decade. It is disappointing to see, since last season they were supposed to impose their will because the team wanted to establish the running game.
However, that did not happen as the veteran offensive line with so much production and experience did not perform up to expectations. The Seminoles are trying their luck again as they went out and grabbed six transfers in the portal, where four of them are projected starters.
Even with the transfers in place, new offensive line coach Herb Hand highlighted that he wanted to get eight guys in their rotation whom he can trust. It won't be a situation like 2024, where they will be shifting the rotation all of the time.
However, the offensive line is a position group that could suffer injuries. In that case, some players have to be on standby to enter the game. One player that I want to see develop this season is offensive tackle Lucas Simmons. He is listed at 6'8" and 311 pounds.
He would be a perfect offensive tackle for 2026 if he can piece everything together this season, learning from guys such as Gunnar Hansen and Micah Pettus. It would be ideal to see him blossom this fall camp to propel him with confidence.
