FOUR-STAR RB TAEVION SWINT
Florida State currently does not have any running backs in its 2025 recruiting class. They did have four-star Byron Louis from American Heritage High School in Plantation, Florida, but he flipped his commitment from Florida State to Florida.
His main connection was defensive backs coach Patrick Surtain Sr., who used to be the head football coach at American Heritage High School. Louis also has a relationship with running backs coach David Johnson. With staff changes coming, there is no guarantee that Johnson or Surtain will be in Tallahassee for the 2025 season.
Four-star target Ousmane Kromah made his way to Tallahassee. However, he seems firm in his pledge to the Georgia Bulldogs. He likes Florida State and has visited the Seminoles several times. However, Florida State has not shown strides of being an elite team after their performance this year.
One name to watch going forward before the Early Signing Period is four-star Taevion Swint from Osceola High School in Kissimmee, Florida. Swint has been committed to the Knight since April 2023. While the talented back has not visited Florida State since 2023, Malzahn could lure him to Tallahassee.
Senior running backs such as Lawrance Toafili, Caziah Holmes, and Roydell Williams (who could be back technically) will be gone. This could be an opportunity to grab a talented recruit and potentially a transfer.
