DE JADEN JONES
Florida State brought in a couple of edge rushers in the transfer portal, such as James Williams, Jayson Jenkins (hybrid), Deante McCray, and Deamontae Diggs.
The Seminoles then replaced defensive coordinator Adam Fuller with Nebraska's Tony White. White's scheme seems to be more multiple than Fuller's. He has been known to utilize a 3-3-5 defense with multiple looks.
This will be an adjustment for Seminole fans as they are likely not used to it. However, it is time for the defense to emerge as a unit that strikes fear in opposing offenses. Head football coach Mike Norvell talked recently about Florida State's want to be physical and stop the run on defense.
One defensive end who did not make any contributions during the 2024 season was Jaden Jones. Jones was a former three-star JUCO prospect that the coaching staff liked but he was recovering from his knee injury. That has foreshadowed his career in Tallahassee so far where he missed the past year with an injury.
However, it is Jones's last time to shine as he is a redshirt senior. The defense could rotate quite a few pass rushers and I believe that the veteran could make some noise. That could be a name to monitor for the fan base.
