The 2025 NFL Draft will begin Thursday night in Green Bay, Wisconsin. We know that former Florida State football players like Azareye'h Thomas and Joshua Farmer will be drafted. Head football coach Mike Norvell looks to add to his resume of producing draft picks.
Florida State finished with a 2-10 record in 2024 and still has productive pieces that could be drafted. The Seminoles can only get better in 2025. I think this is a perfect opportunity to discuss three players on the Seminoles' roster who have the highest chance of getting drafted.
DT DARRELL JACKSON JR.
Florida State had solid production from the former Maryland and Miami defensive tackle transfer last year, where he recorded 32 tackles (four for loss), 3.5 sacks, and one forced fumble. However, Jackson Jr. has his time to shine, where fellow running mate Joshua Farmer is no longer in Tallahassee.
S SHYHEIM BROWN
The secondary was expected to take a big turn in 2024, but the defense underperformed. This isn't to say that safety Shyheim Brown performed badly, but it wasn't up to the standard of wanting to be a high NFL draft pick. Brown recorded 70 tackles, two pass breakups, and two blocked field goals last year. It should be a career senior year for the former three-star prospect.
S EARL LITTLE JR.
Defensive coordinator Tony White had high expectations for a few defenders in his unit. One specific mention was redshirt junior defensive back Earl Little Jr., whom he referred to as "Him". I was personally excited for the former Alabama transfer, but he did not perform up to expectations. He switched from nickel to safety midway through 2024. This is his opportunity to shine.
