FSU FOOTBALL LOSES

Florida State suffered its first loss of the 2025 season with a heartbreaker in Charlottesville to the Virginia Cavaliers by a score of 46-38 in double overtime. It still pains me to type that because, as head football coach, Mike Norvell, highlighted in the post-game, one of the 15–20 plays could have gone differently, and the Seminoles would've won the game.

There isn't a time to make excuses now. The Seminoles didn't seem prepared for a contest that they had an extra day of rest on. Understandably, it could have served as a look-ahead spot to Miami coming to Tallahassee next Saturday, but there is a standard at Florida State.

With that said, a portion of the fan base is furious with defensive coordinator Tony White and his unit. While this article is not supposed to be angled as a direct shot at Coach White, this should be a good time to highlight three players on defense that could spark a resurgence against Miami next week.
