DT KJ SAMPSON

Florida State has a new defensive coordinator, Tony White, who has a new 3-3-5 defensive scheme that he is bringing to Tallahassee.

The Seminoles already had some massive news that redshirt junior defensive tackle Darrell Jackson Jr. would be returning for his senior season in 2025. Jackson Jr. would be a player that could be disruptive and make opposing offenses have nightmares.

It looks like redshirt junior Joshua Farmer will stick with declaring for the 2025 NFL Draft. If it takes there will have to be other pieces that come in to spell the 330-pound Jackson Jr. since having that much weight does not indicate that he will play over 60+ snaps per game.

The Seminoles liked factoring in Daniel Lyons last year, but the youngster could be a little undersized in the role, even though I like his skillset. One underrated piece that I know Norvell has highly invested in and has raved about him is defensive tackle KJ Sampson.

Sampson is a former four-star prospect from the 2023 recruiting cycle who is listed at 306 pounds. He played in eleven games last year, where he recorded ten tackles and a pass deflection. This will be his third year in the program, and that is usually the jump that fans expect players to make.
