FSU football coaches look to put the finishing touches on its 2024 prep recruiting class as Early Signing Day approaches on December 20.
The Noles have had a commitment from four-star QB Luke Kromenhoek for well over a year, and he’s been one of the most vocal leaders in the 2024 recruiting class.
However, some shockwaves went through the recruiting world Monday afternoon when Recruiting Analyst Steve Wiltfong made a projection for five-star QB Georgia commit Dylan Raiola to flip to Nebraska. Raiola ranks as the No. 6 player nationally, and the No. 1 QB.
Raiola is the high school teammate of FSU five-star safety commit KJ Bolden, but I saw some FSU fans start asking questions about the ramifications of a potential Raiola flip. Luke Kromenhoek lives in Georgia after all and ranks as the No. 53 player nationally, and the No. 5 QB.
Raiola intends to take an official visit to Nebraska the weekend before the Early Signing Period. That’s probably a solid sign the flip will happen. However, if he does flip, I don’t think that’ll affect FSU and Luke Kromenhoek at all.
Georgia has another lower-ranked four-star QB committed in its 2024 class, and Kromenhoek has a great relationship with the coaching staff and already plans to be around the team during their Orange Bowl practices before enrolling in the spring.
I know FSU and Georgia have gone head-to-head for several recruits in this recruiting cycle, and FSU has won its fair share. KJ Bolden, Landon Thomas, and Kameron Davis come to mind since they all hail from the Peach State. The recruiting world is crazy, and literally anything can happen.
However, I don’t think FSU fans have anything to worry about here. FSU was the first P5 team to offer Kromenhoek before he was a starting QB on his high school team.
That relationship is rock solid, and I don’t think Georgia can or will try to do anything at this point at the QB position since they have two QBs committed.
