Offensive Line

The coaching staff signed a solid offensive line class in the 2022 recruiting cycle while using the portal as a stop-gap to allow those players to develop.

The offensive line has already seen some attrition via the transfer portal, which includes a couple of guys from that class. Also, Bless Harris has entered the transfer portal, and starters D’Mitri Emmanuel and Casey Roddick have exhausted eligibility.

It’s possible we could see more departures via the portal. FSU coaches will be counting on a combination of veterans like Maurice Smith, Robert Scott, Darius Washingston, Jeremiah Byers, and Keiondre Jones to work with young guys like Julian Armella, Jaylen Early, Andre Otto, Lucas Simmons, and others to form a formidable rotation.

That’s a solid group, but FSU likely needs a couple of transfers to provide more depth and/or start while the young guys continue to get their feet wet.

FSU still struggled in short-yardage situations in 2023 and had some guys playing out of position due to injuries.
