FSU football is coming off an ACC Championship Game victory where they defeated the Louisville Cardinals by a score of 16-6 on Saturday night.

The Seminoles were ranked No. 4 going into the matchup. The offense struggled where they only mustered 55 passing yards under the guidance of true freshman quarterback Brock Glenn in place of redshirt junior Tate Rodemaker, who dealt with a concussion.

Florida State was able to grind out a hard-fought victory even when their backs were against the wall. The Seminoles’ defensive unit only allowed Louisville to have 188 total yards and kept Florida State in the game.

On Sunday afternoon, much of the Florida State fan base, coaching staff, players, and administration felt as though the Seminoles deserved to be in the College Football Playoff, considering that they were undefeated and won the ACC Championship. However, the College Football Playoff shockingly decided to put Florida State at the No. 5 spot in the final rankings.

Here is the final top-6 College Football Playoff rankings:

  1. Michigan
  2. Washington
  3. Texas
  4. Alabama
  5. Florida State
  6. Georgia

To say that everyone is frustrated is quite an understatement. This is an absolute travesty to the college football sport that the Florida State Seminoles are not in the College Football Playoff, even with redshirt junior quarterback Jordan Travis suffering a season-ending injury versus North Alabama.

There is no possible reasoning behind an Alabama team that lost at home to Texas by two possessions, struggled with South Florida on the road with a backup quarterback, narrowly beat Texas A&M and Arkansas, and needed a 4th & 31 to beat Auburn on the road.

There is absolutely no explanation that Florida State should have been left out as an undefeated Power 5 conference champion, who has a non-conference schedule of LSU and Florida. Words cannot describe how frustrating this process is for head football coach Mike Norvell and this football team who have worked so hard to get where they are today.

Nonetheless, it is always ‘Go Noles’ and I am extremely thankful to watch this team perform this season.
