FSU football: Impact players versus North Alabama
S Conrad Hussey
I think you are beginning to notice a trend with this impact players article. There will likely be a young movement associated with this North Alabama game. I understand the concerns of not taking a team lightly, especially given that Florida State lost to FCS opponent Jacksonville State in 2021, but this Seminoles’ football team is on a mission to showcase their talents to the college football world.
The safety position was certainly something that gave the fanbase concern since do-it-all defensive back Jammie Robinson elected to go to the NFL. The Seminoles had to have reserve Shyheim Brown emerge as a starter.
Brown has performed well this season, but Florida State has some unproven and young defensive backs behind the Lake City (FL) native and veteran Akeem Dent. The coaching staff added six defensive backs in the 2023 recruiting cycle, but one name who has made a sizable difference is true freshman Conrad Hussey.
The former four-star safety prospect from St. Thomas Aquinas High School in Fort Lauderdale, Florida enrolled to Florida State this summer given that his high school did not allow prospects to enroll to their respective universities early. However, Hussey has made his mark this season already where he has recorded seven tackles and two forced fumbles.
This could be excellent opportunity for Hussey to make more bone-breaking hits to opposing offensive players.
