No. 4 FSU football will look to continue its winning ways when they host the North Alabama Lions on Saturday at 6:30 ET on the CW channel. There are not betting odds for this game at the time of this writing, but FSU expects to win easily.

The Lions lost to Central Arkansas last week, and lost the week before that against Austin Peay. Both teams rank among the top 25 FCS programs nationally.

North Alabama is (3-7, 1-5 in conference play). Here’s how they stack up by the numbers:

  • 23.9 ppg
  • 30.80 ppg allowed
  • 5.3 ypp
  • 6.2 ypp allowed

Thoughts

This game couldn’t have come at a more perfect time, with many players on the team playing last week at less than 100 percent. It’ll allow FSU to rest the majority of those guys without the risk of losing while they get as healthy as they can for the regular-season finale against Florida at night in the Swamp.

It’ll be the last home game for seniors like Jordan Travis, Kalen DeLoach, Akeem Dent, and Dennis Briggs. These were guys that were at FSU when Mike Norvell took over for Willie Taggart and never waivered or jumped in the transfer portal.

All of them have developed into meaningful contributors when healthy. It’ll likely be the last home game for players like Jared Verse, Tatum Bethune, Keon Coleman, Johnny Wilson, Fabien Lovett, D’Mitri Emmanuel, Braden Fiske and others.

I can’t put into words the impact these players have had on the program. Some of them have seen it all, and others took big time risks, taking a chance to join a program coming off multiple losing seasons.

If you can make it to the game, it would be great to send these guys off with an amazing send off. They’ve helped rebuild this program into what it’s supposed to be. It’s been great watching these guys lead the Climb!
