Transfer Portal Recruiting

FSU football coaches have created the blueprint with Transfer Portal recruiting. They used the portal to become competent in 2021 and got some difference makers in the 2022 class to help lead them to 10 wins.

They did the same thing in the 2023 recruiting cycle, which has allowed the young talent mentioned earlier to develop without getting thrust into action too early.

FSU is improving in real-time on the field while the younger players get prepared to contribute.

FSU will continue to use the portal to fill gaps on the roster when needed and if there are true difference-makers at certain positions that can help them win.

The 2024 recruiting class will be no different, though the coaching staff has concentrated much more on high school recruiting.

There will be some portal additions, and the coaching staff can point to players like Jermaine Johnson, Jared Verse, Keon Coleman, Johnny Wilson, Tatum Bethune, and others as a proven track record of playing time, development, and the opportunity to play on a top team.

Miami isn’t pulling guys that will be top draft picks from the portal. In fact, the guys Miami got from the portal haven’t been great overall, and so they’ve played more young guys. That’s another recruiting advantage for FSU.
