No. 4 FSU football defeated the rival Miami Hurricanes 27-20, which is the third straight year they’ve defeated Miami.

Like most rivalry games, there were momentum swings and ebbs and flows, but FSU probably played their C- game, and it still shouldn’t have been close. Mike Norvell and the FSU offense gave Miami six points off their decision-making and poor field position.

The playcalling left a lot to desire, and FSU failed to cash in on a major opportunity in the red zone and settled for a field goal.

However, aside from one busted play by Kevin Knowles in the fourth quarter, the FSU defense shut down the Miami offense and sealed the win with an interception.

It wasn’t the prettiest win, but you always take a win over a hated rival over Miami.

Thoughts

I’m curious to see how all of the recruits react to the win. FSU had over 100 recruits in attendance from the 2024, 2025, and 2026 recruiting cycles.

The atmosphere was electric, with nearly 80,000 fans chanting for most of the game. FSU has a few select spots remaining in its 2024 recruiting class and has already started building for its 2025 recruiting class.

They’ve clinched an undefeated season in the ACC, so much for all those clowns in North Carolina who were talking smack in the preseason when FSU was vocal about leaving the conference(can we leave yesterday).

They’ll have a game against North Alabama, which should allow some guys to get much-needed rest before they finish the regular season against another hated rival in the Florida Gators.

FSU has a chance to clinch the state championship in the Sunshine State for the second consecutive year. I know it wasn’t the dominant win we all wanted, but cherish this win, FSU football fans!
