FSU football: Impact players versus the Miami Hurricanes
DT Braden Fiske
The Florida State coaching staff has benefitted from acquiring Western Michigan defensive tackle Braden Fiske from the transfer portal this offseason. With Darrell Jackson Jr. still not playing this season due to his waiver appeal being denied, Fiske has added much-needed depth and experience to a position room that is one of the best in the country.
There are rumor swirling this week that talented Miami quarterback Tyler Van Dykes has been battling injuries. Not to mention, the signal caller has been struggling as of late where he has thrown five touchdowns and ten interceptions in the last four games against the likes of Georgia Tech, North Carolina, Virginia, and North Carolina State.
As a result, the Hurricanes will likely try to establish the running game early and often to take the pressure off of Van Dyke to give him a sense of comfort. If the Seminoles’ defense is able to contain the running game with their interior defensive linemen, it could make the Hurricanes’ offense one-dimensional.
