Offensive Line Got Whipped Early

One of the biggest takeaways was how the FSU offensive line got whipped by the Duke defensive front early in the game.

FSU couldn’t get the running game going and got pressure on Jordan Travis while only rushing three defenders at different points in the game.

Duke only had one sack and five tackles for a loss, but it felt like it was more than that. Duke is a good defense that plays aggressively, but seeing how the offensive line struggled at times does give me pause on the ceiling for this offense against a elite defense.

The inability to get movement in those short yardage situations is frustrating because that’s one reason the coaching staff went to the transfer portal.

However, I have to give them credit on the last couple of drives, as Jordan Travis loosened the Duke defense, and they got some push with Rodney Hill running hard.

They’ve gone up against great defensive lines a few times this season in LSU and Clemson. Miami’s and Florida will pose challenges as well.
