FSU football: 3 impact players during the Seminoles’ 41-3 victory over Syracuse
TE Jaheim Bell
As I alluded in a previous article, someone had to step up with wide receiver Johnny Wilson being unavailable with an injury. Tight end Jaheim Bell became that option alongside wide receiver Keon Coleman. The former South Carolina transfer has been battling an injury throughout the last couple of games, but he rose up to the occasion on Saturday as he finished with four receptions for 87 yards.
Even though Bell was hobbling around with a lower-body injury, he became an option for quarterback Jordan Travis to throw to in the middle of the field. The Seminoles have been known to favor downfield shots with Coleman and Wilson.
Who could blame them with having players at those calibers?
However, I could understand the thought process by the fanbase in wanting other contributors to get involved if either of them were not open. Bell’s last notable performance was when he had five catches for 76 yards and a touchdown in the 31-29 victory versus Boston College.
The dynamic athlete played well on Saturday, and I believe that could be a building block for him in the reminder of the 2023 season.
