FSU football: Recruits recognize Mike Norvell’s birthday
By Kelvin Hunt
FSU football head coach Mike Norvell celebrated his 42nd birthday Wednesday at practice with his team.
A few media members asked Norvell what he was going to do to celebrate his birthday after practice, and he said probably working in his office the rest of the day.
Mike Norvell remains the youngest head coach in the ACC and the 22nd youngest at the FBS level.
The day didn’t go unnoticed by several big-time recruits who took time to wish Mike Norvell well on his birthday:
Recruit Reactions
Thoughts
Someone mentioned it seems like this is the first birthday Mike Norvell has had since becoming the head coach in 2019. I suppose the first birthday was during the pandemic, and for the last two FSU was either struggling or coming off losses. It proves that winning cures all.
I thought it was cool the majority of the recruits/commits took the time to wish the coach a Happy Birthday. A ton of former players did the same.
The way young folks are with social media and lack of time and awareness. It shows FSU recruits/commits have a great deal of respect for Mike Norvell to recognize his birthday. I’m not saying those that didn’t post on social media don’t.
They very well could have called or sent him a text message to express their thoughts. It’s amazing how far FSU has come under Mike Norvell’s leadership in such a short time. It was only two years ago the Noles had started the season 0-4 and needed a last-second field goal to defeat Syracuse to snap the losing streak.
Ironically, FSU will host Syracuse on Saturday as -17.5 betting favorites. The undefeated Noles will likely be betting favorites in the remaining games on the schedule and control their destiny to win the ACC, make the College Football Playoffs, and ultimately play for a National Championship.
