FSU football is progressively getting better as the season rolls along. The Seminoles have started the campaign with a 5-0 record for the first time since 2015. This includes massive victories over LSU and Clemson.
The offensive side of the football has scored 42.4 points per game. However, some fans have expressed frustrations around the thought process that the Seminoles are too reliant on throwing the football to wide receivers Johnny Wilson and Keon Coleman.
While the big-bodied playmakers are mismatch nightmares for opposing defenses, there are other viable weapons on offense that have not involved much on offense such as true freshman wide receiver Destyn Hill.
Norvell spoke Hill during Tuesday’s press conference with various members of the media: “I think he has been really good. It’s just that consistency of all things. I think he is getting better. That was a big play for him in the game on Saturday. I thought he responded well today, but there are some things that we have to clean up. As a freshman to go in there and do the things that he has done here early, we are really proud of him.”
Fans were patiently awaiting for the former Class of 2021 four-star wide receiver prospect Destyn Hill to arrive in Tallahassee after his enrollment at Florida State was delayed due to a personal matter. Some individuals even questioned if the Edna Karr High School standout was a real person
However, the Louisiana native proved the doubters wrong by showing up to campus ready to go. A variety of coaches, players, and media members raves about Hill this offseason in regards to his hard work and dedication.
Unfortunately, that has not translated to the stat sheet where the true freshman has only recorded two receptions for 48 yards and zero touchdowns through five games this season. However, he did have a nice back shoulder catch for 30 yards in the 39-17 victory over Virginia Tech.
With veteran slot receiver Winston Wright Jr. not being on the Seminoles’ roster anymore, will this open the door for Hill to get more opportunities?
