Be Aggressive on Defense

Florida State defensive coordinator Adam Fuller’s unit benefitted from being aggressive in the second half against the Clemson Tigers. Linebacker Kalen DeLoach’s massive hit on quarterback Cade Klubnik ultimately changed the outcome of the contest and allowed the Seminoles to win the game by a score of 31-24 in overtime.

FSU has recorded 13 sacks thus far through five games this season. Most surprisingly, superstar defensive end Jared Verse only has 2.5 sacks on the 2023 campaign. However, it does look as the Albany transfer is starting to find his rhythm as he recorded two sacks in the 39-17 victory over Virginia Tech.

In terms of the Syracuse offense, their offensive line allows 2.67 sacks per game (102nd in the FBS). The Seminoles’ defensive unit should find success against Shrader, who isn’t the quickest of quarterbacks. If the linebackers and defensive linemen don’t over pursue then the FSU defense should have pass-rushing success against the Orange on Saturday.
