Analysis
Well, well, well… Florida State has finally moved up in the rankings. The Seminoles recently moved down from No. 4 to No. 5 after defeating the likes of the Clemson Tigers on the road. This created a sense of confusion among the fanbase considering that FSU had not beaten Clemson since 2014.
Some individuals within the fanbase even thought that the AP voters would find a way to place head football coach Mike Norvell and company at the No. 6 spot. However, after the Texas Longhorns were defeated by the Oklahoma Sooners by a score of 34-30, it allowed the Seminoles to climb back up to the No. 4 ranking.
While FSU has aspects on the offensive and defensive sides of the football that they need to improve upon, it should be documented that the Seminoles possess a 5-0 record for the first time since 2015.
Personally, I don’t put a ton of stock into the AP poll rankings because the College Football Playoff committee’s rankings matter the most. However, the AP poll could be utilized as a serviceable barometer of what to expect.
The Seminoles understand that they need to handle their business. If they do that, then everything will take care of itself and FSU will ultimately be where they want to be.
