FSU football fans heard it all offseason (what else is new) from Miami Hurricane fans, and things ramped up after they beat three cupcakes and an overrated Texas A&M team in week two.
They hosted a Georgia Tech team that lost to Bowling Green last week as near 20 point betting favorites, and lost 23-20 on a last second touchdown pass from Georgia Tech QB Haynes King.
Miami had the ball with under a minute to go in the game, leading 20-17 only needed to kneel one final time to let time expire.
However, Mario Cristobal ran a running play where the Miami running back fumbled the ball, giving Georgia Tech another possession with 26 seconds remaining.
Here’s how it unfolded below:
One of the biggest coaching blunders in recent memory. All Miami and Mario Cristobal had to do was take a knee

Not only was it a bone-headed coaching decision, but Mario Cristobal threw the running back under the bus instead of taking owenership of the blunder. Miami fans loved to point out how FSU had to hold off Boston College and tried to discredit the win at Clemson a couple of weeks ago. Well, there’s nothing they can say after this loss, with likley more coming against North Carolina, Clemson, and when they come to Tallahassee in a few weeks. Check out the fan reaction to the loss:

Just waking up and catching up on this #MiamiHurricanes situation. I'm not advocating for the coach to get fired. But the question has to be asked. If this isn't a firable offense, then what is?#Miami #GTvsMIA

Thoughts
I told folks what the hiring Mario Cristobal was when Miami hired him. He’s a terrible game day coach that’s not the recruiter everyone makes him out to be. It’s why I’ve never been worried about them as a program since, and the game last year showed the difference between Cristobal and Mike Norvell.
FSU found a weakness and exploited it over and over with one play, and Miami couldn’t make any adjustments amid their 45-3 beatdown against FSU. Miami is a flawed team that will be exposed even more when they play competent teams.
They bragged about scoring on a Texas A&M defense, but Alabama threw for over 300 yards on Texas A&M Saturday with a running back playing quarterback.
Miami is better than they were last year, but as usual, the losses will pile up now after getting off to good start with a soft schedule.
