FSU football enters Saturday’s game as huge betting favorites over the Virginia Tech Hokies. The betting line opened at -29 and has been bet to -24, likely because of how FSU has performed over the last two games.

The offense has been stagnant for much of the last five quarters, and the defense has allowed some explosive plays and struggled against a couple of mobile quarterbacks.

I spoke about Virginia Tech’s offense on my YouTube channel, and some Virginia Tech fans expect the game to be more competitive than the points spread.

However, the mobile quarterbacks FSU has faced thus far are more of the scrambling type and less designed run. They are also likely much faster than 6’2″ 235 pounds Kyron Drones. However, the former blue-chip high school quarterback has some tools and is a load to bring down once he gets some momentum.

FSU has been solid against the traditional run and most designed runs. The FSU defense is solid against short horizontal passes, so that’s likely what oddsmakers see in this matchup.

Also, Virginia Tech doesn’t have the personnel to matchup with most of FSU’s offensive weapons. I expect FSU to win, but here are three keys to covering the double-digit spread and changing the narrative surrounding the program.
