Defensive Approach

FSU football fans have been overly critical of the FSU defense through four games, but it’s the unit responsible for its last two wins.

As FSU fans watch other games around the country, I think they can appreciate a defense that hasn’t allowed more than 35 points twice over the past two years. One thing that’s been detrimental to the FSU defense the past two games has been the absence of starting safety Akeem Dent.

Dent hurt his hamstring about midway through the Southen Mississippi game. If he can return, it would be a boost to the secondary. The real question I have is will Adam Fuller change his defensive approach in the first half of games?

FSU went to a much more aggressive approach in the second half of the Clemson game, which only allowed one touchdown in the second half.

Of course, every team is different, so you can’t attack or defend everyone the same way. However, I’m curious if FSU will go to tighter coverages earlier in games. Will they blitz more in the first half?
