LSU First Half

Plays Yards Result
8 plays 61 yards Turnover on Downs
9 plays 75 yards TD
7 plays 70 yards Turnover on Downs
3 plays 8 yards Punt
5 plays 51 yards Touchdown (Short Field)
10 plays 67 yards Field Goal

That’s 42 plays for 332 yards, which is 7.9 ypp. The defense did a great job bowing up in the red zone, but that’s not getting off the field enough to give the FSU offense more possessions. However, the FSU offense did the defense no favors with a three-and-out possession deep in their territory, giving the LSU offense possession at midfield to start their fifth possession. The defense on the final possession was great until they allowed a third and 10 conversion on a simple run off the edge for 35 yards. That was unexcusable in that situation.

LSU Second Half

Plays Yards Result
6 plays 36 yards Punt
6 plays 25 yards Interception
3 plays 4 yards Punt
7 plays 40 yards Turnover on Downs

I didn’t include the final score because it was in garbage time with third string players in the lineup for FSU football. That’s 22 plays for 97 yards, which is  4.4 ypp and a forced turnover. This is outstanding defense against what will be a top 10 offense nationally at the end of the season.
