FSU football fans were patiently awaiting the news of the Seminoles’ uniform combination in their road matchup today against the Clemson Tigers.

Individuals knew that there were the following three options to choose from:

•Gold helmets, white jerseys, and gold pants

•Gold helmets, white jerseys, and garnet pants

•White helmets, white jerseys, and white pants

On Saturday morning, FSU Football’s Twitter account announced they would wear gold helmets, white jerseys, and garnet pants.

In my personal (yet slightly biased) opinion, the garnet and gold color combination is one of the premier pairings in all of college football.

With that said, I don’t mind the Seminoles packing the garnet pants for this matchup. Especially considering that the last time they wore the uniform combination, they absolutely obliterated their arch-rival Miami Hurricanes on the road by a score of 45-3.

Head football coach Mike Norvell and company are looking to make a statement to the college football world by beating the likes of Clemson for the first time since 2014. All eyes will be on the Seminoles in the contest, given that the noon slate is less than inspiring.

While uniform combinations do not dictate wins and losses, some individuals have a unique thought process when it comes to uniforms: “Look good, play good.” I also know that there are others want the Noles to stick to their traditional gold helmet, white jersey, and gold pants look.

It cannot hurt that several highly-touted prospects interested in Florida State will be tuned into the game. As most know, recruits love to see the team wear unique, non-traditional uniforms.

As of now, the Seminoles are ranked No. 6 in the 2024 247Sports Composite rankings, with 21 prospects committed to their class. The coaching staff is looking to put the finishing touches on the future foundation of the program.
